Gladshot - the more you listen to them, the more they pull you into
their sound... infectious licks, strong melodies, it's-got-a-good-beat-you-can-dance-to-it...
they deliver in the best tradition of pop music. At the core
of the group are singer/songwriter team Mike Blaxill and Debbie
Andrews. Here's a little something on the band from their website:
After
touring the country solo, Mike first appeared on the NYC scene as
a regular at the Bitter End Songwriter's Circle and the Songwriter's
Hall of Fame Showcase. In 1996 he received BMI's Abe Oleman Award
as "the years most promising singer/songwriter". Mike,
who sings and plays guitar in Gladshot, brings a rootsy vibe to
the new project.

Debbie,
a singer and keyboardist, is also a solo artist with an impressive
history. At the age of 16, she made her Broadway debut as Crissy
in the hit musical "Hair". Debbie studied classical piano
and received a Jazz Fellowship Grant from the National Endowment
for the Arts. She also performs on the "Women of Heart and
Mind" compilation on Quail Records. A classically trained pianist
and Bill Evans devotee, Debbie gives Gladshot a layered, jazz component.
Gladshot is rounded out by session veterans: guitarist Mike Daly
(Whiskeytown), drummer Brian Delaney (Blood Sweat & Tears) and
bassist Joe Quigley (Lisa Loeb).
